Advent House Christmas Vacation Large Model 32 Wide
Advent Calendar House from Christmas Vacation Movie. This is a beautifully detailed scale model of the advent calendar house that was shown in the movie National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. The advent house was used between scenes in the movie to indicate the passage of time. This house measures a little under 32" wide and almost 11" deep.
The height of the house without atrium or cupola is about 18. Plus another 3" for the atrium and 4" for the cupola. The atrium and cupola are separate pieces, not attached to the rest of the house.
There is a light that goes inside the house. When you open a window or door (one for each day) you see a Christmas picture lit up from inside the house. The plaque on the side of the house reads "The Advent House Limited Edition 2007-153". I assume it means the house was made in 2007 by the company called Advent House.
I don't know whether this house was built by Advent House or someone else. This house is fully assembled. It also shows some wear and tear. The window frames for Dec. 19 (top left and bottom left windows) are broken.The cupola had a spire on top that was broken when I got the house. It looks like someone tried gluing it back on without success. In any case, the house will need a little repair and probably some maintenance from time to time. Replacement parts are available from Advent House, and I saw that they now offer a clock tower, with a working clock, to replace the cupola. Other extras can be made or bought including landscaping etc.
The railings around the top of the house (widow's peak) are separate pieces that attach to the house with magnets. I noticed in some of the pictures the railings are crooked. They are very easy to adjust, I just did not notice them at the time. Most of the items I sell come from estate sales and have imperfections. I try to describe all flaws in my listing and take lots of photographs to help you see the condition.
