(Brand new, still in box) The Department 56 "Rockefeller Plaza Skating Rink" (Item #56.52504) was introduced in May 2000 and retired in December 2003 as part of the Christmas in the City series. It captures the iconic holiday magic of Manhattan's Rockefeller Center with animated skaters and glowing holiday lighting.

Key Design & Animation Features. Animated Ice Rink: Features a recessed ice pond surface with magnetic mechanisms beneath the base that glide mini figure skaters around the rink in smooth, natural skating motions. Central Christmas Tree: At the center of the display sits a tall, decorated evergreen tree adorned with colorful blinking lights that recreate the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting. Gold Promenade & Architecture: Surrounded by gold-trimmed balustrades, classical stone piers, and festive banners that mimic the sunken plaza overlooks near the Prometheus statue in New York City. Includes built-in audio features that play classic Christmas music tunes while the skaters move and lights blink.
